Obedience

Read a book these few days entitled"A prayer that moves heavens" by Ron Mehl

It talks about King Jehoshaphat in the old testimony, who has to face a sudden invasion upon Jerusalem, without any warning,no defense and no plan, and how he seeked God despite these sudden invasion. It also teaches us how to pray in obedience when the storms roar in from out of nowhere.

There's a phrase inside that says: You can build an ark,but only God can bring the great flood.
You can march around the walls of Jericho, but only God can bring them down. You can have people sit in groups of fifty, but only God can feed five thousand from a tiny sack lunch. You can take steps of obedience in your marriage, but only God can bring the restoration and blessings.

It's really true, often we grab alot of things very tightly eg.Our family, our studies, our health, our career, our interest, our relationships, our wealth, that we forgot that actually everything that we have all belonged to God and he could take it away anytime he wants to.Imagine if one day,God were to take all these away from you like you suddenly get a kind of illness that doctors cant cure,or take the person you love away from you,or worse, take everything away from you and you're left with nothing in the world, can you still go back to church and worship or serve him?Too often we answer "we can"too quickly like Peter,But when things happen how ready are we?To still have that act of obedience and trust Him to bring us thru...it's really not easy, the young or the old have to learn...no one can escape ...
The young have their studies ,etc to worry, the working people have their own worries, the old retired people have their stress too,the singles have their own troubles, insecurity, the married have their worries too,eg.will my spouse leave me from illness,or will my child be healthy or abnormal?Alot of uncertainties, and we cant always wait for these uncertainties to happen before we go back and seek the Lord.We must always be on guard and alert,to prepare ourselves for deep crisis. We can't know in advance what a day will bring, but we can live with the assurance that God does.we've gotta constantly reflect and remind ourselves...that God is solely the one we're living for,if all other things r taken away,we still didnt lose that purpose. What is the one thing or things that we are grabbing tightly now which is not our sole purpose for living???
