sweet slice of life

Life to me has been fulfilling, in so many different aspects.

When you fix your eyes on Jesus and focus on serving rather than centering on yourself, you'll sense abundance.

Especially enjoyed myself at children's camp. The most memorable part was during their praise and worship session which was held in the morning (which was the only part i went hoho). The sacrifice was that i had to lug myself out of bed very early to travel there, which i later found out was worth it. The thing is,when i do not have enough sleep, I'll just wanna be alone and return to my lala land, if not i'll RAWR=p.

But....... all lethagy were rewritten by voices of lovely children.

My eyes melted when they sang their theme song 奇妙的双手. truly grateful.

We go there as teachers but very often we return as students- they have taught us many lessons as well.

So glad to be able to catch up with Pastor Audrey too. It's been donkey years, it' always hi s and bye s and saying" we'll catch up soon" but never until now. thankful for the right time.

After that, took time off from the typical" hectic life of Singaporeans" and brought DSLR for a walk. Went around snapping, met my "not-so-old friend" on the way. Sometimes you'll discover things which you might have missed if you had company.

It was a nice day in short, though it rained like dinosaurs later in the afternoon.

back to reality,

Sure life is still tough at times and the future is always uncertain, but the number of things to be grateful for makes up for everything.

Without the assurance of God's love, i am just an empty shell, a broken puppet, disjointed and crippled. Sometimes we forget and we mistakenly believe that people around us are our sole source of security, expecting them to meet all our emotional and supportive needs when they are not meant to.

Without the love of Christ compelling us, everything we do can become an uphill task. Evangelism becomes judgemental, personal committment becomes self-righteous, church service becomes mindless and routine, bible study becomes proud intellectualism, service to others becomes tiring obligation. Only in God's presence, all disappointments and expectations are laid to rest. There we are embraced for who we are, not for what we do. This is the real me, who i am when no one is watching. This is whom God enjoys spending time with the most.

3 more days to church retreat.whee~!
